Andrea’s practice involves the litigation of corporate and commercial disputes in Delaware’s state and federal courts, including the Court of Chancery. Andrea’s practice also involves white collar criminal defense. Andrea has conducted trials involving securities litigation, breach of contract, legal malpractice, and negligence. Andrea is admitted to practice before the courts of Delaware and the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. Prior to joining Wilks, Lukoff & Bracegirdle, Andrea served as a criminal prosecutor with the Attorney General’s Office for the State of Delaware.
In 2007, Andrea graduated cum laude and with pro bono distinction from Widener University School of Law where she served as a volunteer for the Delaware Civil Clinic. During law school, Andrea earned an externship as a criminal prosecutor for the West Chester District Attorney’s Office. Andrea graduated from the University of Delaware in 2004.
Andrea is a member of the Delaware State Bar Association and the Richard S. Rodney Inn of Court. Andrea is active in the Women and the Law Section of the Delaware State Bar Association where she serves on the Nomination Committee and the By-laws Committee. Andrea is also an active member of the Young Lawyers Section of the Delaware State Bar Association and regularly serves on volunteer committees for the annual Combined Campaign for Justice Golf Tournament and Race Judicata bar events. Andrea also volunteers for the Wills for Heroes and Wills for the Elderly events, the Office of Child Advocate, and previously volunteered for the Delaware Pardons Project.
Andrea serves as a mentor for Delaware Youth Leadership Network, an organization that helps young Delaware leaders succeed. Andrea is also the co-author of “Defining a Proper Purpose for Books and Records Actions in Delaware” in the May 2015 issue of Business Law Today, published by the ABA Business Law Section.
Recent experience includes:
- Successfully defending a $45 million legal malpractice case by obtaining a complete defense jury verdict in the Superior Court of the State of Delaware.
- Successfully prosecuting a breach of a non-compete agreement in the Court of Chancery.
- Serving as defense counsel in a white collar criminal case and related civil securities actions in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware.
- Serving as counsel for numerous aviation companies in aviation accident cases pending in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware and the Superior Court of the State of Delaware.
