He serves as both lead counsel and Delaware counsel, with substantial experience in the Delaware Court of Chancery, the Delaware Superior Court’s Complex Commercial Litigation Division, the Delaware Supreme Court, and the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. His practice includes fiduciary duty claims, contract disputes, business torts, corporate governance matters, books-and-records actions, restrictive covenant disputes, and proceedings under the Delaware General Corporation Law. In federal court, Charles represents clients in sophisticated patent litigation in the District of Delaware, including biopharmaceutical patent disputes and other technically complex matters.
A Delaware native, Charles graduated from Salesianum and then the University of Delaware with a B.S. in finance before working for former Congressman Michael N. Castle in the United States House of Representatives. He went on to graduate from Widener University Delaware Law School, cum laude. While in law school, Charles served as the Vice President of the Moot Court Honor Society and was a judicial extern to Chief Magistrate Judge Mary Pat Thynge in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. Prior to joining Wilks Law, Charles served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Jeffrey J. Clark in the Superior Court of Delaware and the Honorable James T. Vaughn, Jr. in both the Superior Court and the Supreme Court of the State of Delaware.
